Job summary

Consor is seeking a Traffic Engineering Designer to contribute to complex transportation projects, providing technical support in traffic operations, design, and safety-focused solutions. The role emphasizes collaboration with project engineers and managers to produce accurate, constructible designs.

You will deliver plans, specs, and cost estimates; develop traffic control systems; perform calculations; and guide junior staff, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering with a transportation design emphasis.
• Requires 2+ years of related experience.
• EIT certification preferred or required where applicable.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Civil 3D, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver traffic engineering design plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Design traffic control systems including signals, signing, markings, lighting, and work zone control.
• Perform traffic engineering calculations and analyses per standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and guide junior staff.
• Support quality control, scheduling, and coordination of traffic-related deliverables.
• Assist with intersection, corridor, and multimodal traffic studies relating to design.

Education

Bachelor of Science in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation design

Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
