The Aerospace Corporation seeks an Engineering Specialist or Senior Engineering Specialist to lead modeling and simulation tool development for sensor systems, including radar, EO/IR, and lidar. You’ll work onsite in El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA, driving analyses that influence national space programs.

The role requires a STEM degree with at least 6 years of leadership in MS&A, strong coding in C/C++/Python, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Travel up to 5–10% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of applicable professional experience leading technical teams and coordinating complex modeling and analysis tasks.
• Demonstrated strength and experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis of space systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Willingness to travel ~5–10% as required.

Responsabilités

• Independently lead tool development designed for modeling and analysis studies of sensors and system‑of‑systems architectures.
• Collaborate with team members to perform tool development and support systems engineering studies to assess tradeoffs.
• Design modeling, simulation and analysis strategies using MS&A tools.
• Develop and implement algorithms for tracking, data fusion and sensor architectures.
• Lead projects to improve existing modeling and simulation tools on an ongoing basis.
• Develop novel simulation approaches and computer tools to support interdisciplinary analyses.
