Job summary

First American Vacation Ownership is seeking a senior title examiner to handle complex title orders, including residential, commercial or home builder projects. You will examine chain of title, abstracts, mortgages, liens, easements, and prepare title products according to guidelines.

The role requires 7+ years in title exam/search, knowledge of legal terms, and strong communication. Licensure is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of title exam and title searching experience.
• Title Agent license preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents.
• Able to read and decipher legal descriptions relating to title orders.
• Commercial experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Research skills and complex problem-solving ability.
• Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
• Strong administrative skills and familiarity with company systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Examine chain of title for underlying real estate in condo projects and individual interests.
• Perform title examination of complex orders requiring high expertise.
• Abstract and analyze records (mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics).
• Write title products based on guidelines.
• Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines.
• Mentor less experienced team members as needed.
• Supervise special projects assigned by department manager.
• Interact with clients/customers.
• No direct reports.
