Job summary

First American Vacation Ownership is seeking a seasoned Title Examiner to join our team in a remote capacity. You will handle complex title matters, review easements and declarations, and provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines.

Applicants should have 7+ years of title exam and title searching experience, strong reading of legal descriptions, and excellent communication. A Title Agent license is preferred but not required; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with title exam and title searching.
• Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents.
• Able to read and decipher legal descriptions relating to title orders.
• Commercial experience a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Examines chain of title for underlying real estate in condominium projects and individual interests.
• Performs title examination of complex title orders requiring a high level of title expertise.
• Abstracts and analyzes records to determine ownership and legal restrictions and verify property descriptions.
• Writes title products based on guidelines and procedures.
• Provides underwriting interpretation within established guidelines.
• Mentors less experienced team members as needed.
• Supervises special projects assigned by the department manager.
• Will have client/customer contact.
