Job summary

First American is seeking an experienced Title Examiner to join our remote-capable team. You will examine chains of title for residential and commercial properties across California, Arizona, and Nevada, handling complex orders and mentoring junior staff.

Candidates should have 7+ years of title exam and title searching experience, a solid knowledge of legal descriptions, and strong communication skills. A Title Agent license is preferred but not required; remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with both title exam and title searching.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents.
• Able to read and decipher legal descriptions relating to title orders.
• Commercial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Examines chain of title for underlying real estate and condominium projects.
• Performs title examination of complex orders requiring high title expertise.
• Abstracts and analyzes records to determine ownership and restrictions.
• Writes title products based on procedural guidelines.
• Provides underwriting interpretation within guidelines.
• Mentors less experienced team members as needed.
• Supervises special projects as assigned by the department manager.
• Client/customer contact expected.
