Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager for the Energy & Resources line to lead multi-discipline teams on thermal generation projects across North America. The role includes owner’s engineer and detailed engineering/design scopes for simple cycle, combined cycle, and repowering projects.

You will drive client service, anticipate needs, manage risk, and align project objectives with our frameworks. This is a seller-doer role focusing on business development and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience on power generation projects.
• Minimum 5 years in business development or as a seller-doer.
• Professional Engineer registration preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management expertise to the team.
• Manage Energy projects/programs.
• Contribute to project management best practices and methodologies.
• Coordinate with leadership and multiple disciplines and with clients and vendors.
• Ensure alignment and consistency of project execution.
• Mentor staff and support client relationship management.
• Monitor resources, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Identify and resolve project gaps with leadership.
• Capture lessons learned and develop improvement actions.
• Support leadership in resource management, recruitment, and coaching PMs.
• Lead or support proposals as required.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Achieve utilization targets.
