Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager for its Energy & Resources business line to lead multi-discipline teams in thermal generation projects throughout North America. The role involves owner’s engineer and detailed engineering/design scopes for simple cycle, combined cycle, and repowering projects.

You will lead project execution, manage risk, and drive client satisfaction. The ideal candidate brings extensive power generation project experience, strong leadership, and a proven ability to develop

Qualifications

• Engineering design and construction experience with power plant projects.
• Expertise in project management including team leadership, resource management, scheduling, project controls, reporting and document controls.
• Strong leader and team player with experience managing a multi-discipline team.
• Experience with EPC/DBB/ECI delivery models for energy projects.
• Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering services related to energy projects.
• Experience in business development, proposals, and budget development.
• Demonstrated leadership competencies and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel to US and Canadian offices and client sites.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365; Excel advanced skills beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to pass drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management expertise to our team.
• Manage Energy projects/programs.
• Support and contribute to PM best practices and methodologies.
• Coordinate with leadership, discipline leads, teams, clients, regulators, vendors and sub-contractors.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure alignment and consistency of project execution.
• Contribute to client satisfaction by fostering excellence and accountability within PM community; coach staff.
• Practice effective business discipline across resources, schedule, budget and quality.
• Identify and resolve project execution gaps in collaboration with leadership.
• Provide feedback and action plans to implement lessons learned and best practices.
• Support leadership in resource management, recruitment, and mentoring PMs.
• Lead or support proposals as required.
• Support mentoring of junior staff.
• Achieve annual utilization targets.
