Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX seeks a Test Engineer to own ATE test software, diagnostics, and pattern content for high‑volume manufacturing. You’ll work across hardware, software, and manufacturing, translating complex problems into robust test solutions.

You’ll lead critical projects, perform silicon characterization, data analysis, and root‑cause debugging while collaborating with design, product, and manufacturing teams to improve quality, yield, and performance.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• MS in Computer or Electrical Engineering desired.
• Experience with test software, ATE, and manufacturing environments.
• Strong debugging, cross‑functional collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, and release ATE test software and patterns for high‑volume manufacturing.
• Lead projects to improve test methodologies, tools, and workflows.
• Perform silicon characterization and data analysis.
• Drive root‑cause debugging across hardware, software, and device interactions.
• Influence decisions to improve product quality, yield, and manufacturability.
• Identify cost-saving and yield‑enhancing improvements.
• Collaborate with lab, manufacturing, and customer teams to correlate results.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical publications.
