Job summary

AMD is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer for its Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Lab in Austin, TX. You will own the reliability and performance of critical lab equipment, partner with engineering and manufacturing, and mentor technicians to implement best practices and scalable processes.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and applying data-driven insights to improve diagnostics and overall lab efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience supporting semiconductor Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in a manufacturing or lab environment.
• Experience developing technical procedures and training materials to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, performance, and operational readiness of ATE lab equipment and infrastructure.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex equipment issues, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive equipment uptime, yield improvement, and manufacturing efficiency through data-driven problem solving.
