Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Equipment Engineer to join the Automated Test Equipment Lab. You will ensure reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of critical lab equipment used to validate AMD’s semiconductor products.

You will partner with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to solve complex issues, improve uptime, and mentor technicians while adopting data-driven approaches and AI-assisted diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting semiconductor ATE in manufacturing or lab settings.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
• Hands-on experience with Advantest, Cohu, or Hontech/Huntech equipment.
• Ability to develop maintenance procedures and training materials.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and performance of ATE lab equipment and infrastructure.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for complex issues.
• Improve uptime, yield, and efficiency through data-driven improvement.
• Develop maintenance plans and BKMs for lab operations.
• Support new technology introductions and equipment readiness.
• Mentor technicians and engineers; leverage automation and AI-enabled tools.
