Job summary

Sparklight, a Cable One brand, is seeking Advance Technicians to install, repair, and troubleshoot telecom equipment in customer networks. You will read design maps, verify field data, and ensure high-quality connectivity across HFC and fiber systems.

The role requires performing underground splices, test equipment usage, and readiness to work overtime and weekends. Training will be provided to advance within the company’s technical career path.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to four years related experience.
• Working knowledge of signal level meters, VOM, leakage detection equipment, TDR, OTDR and related test equipment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for the involved state.
• Ability to work a variable schedule and respond to service interruptions; overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in the Headend, HFC and fiber optic networks.
• Repair customer-owned equipment and assist in restoring service.
• Read and interpret system/network design maps and verify documentation against field findings.
• Splice/terminate coaxial and fiber optics cables; install devices; test to ensure performance.
• Perform underground facility locates to prevent cable damage and outages.
• Maintain plant quality and monitor signal leakage; ride out leakage as needed.
• Train system personnel as directed by management.
