Job summary

Sparklight, a Cable One brand, is seeking an Advance Technician to install, repair, and troubleshoot customer equipment and networks. You will read and interpret system maps, verify as-built documentation, and help maintain exceptional connectivity for our customers and communities.

The role uses test gear such as signal meters, VOM, leakage detectors, TDR and OTDR to diagnose faults in HFC and fiber networks, splicing/activating devices, and restoring plant to specification.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school.
• Three to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
• Must complete Sparklight Advanced Technician training within 6 months of start.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and troubleshoot customer equipment and networks.
• Read and interpret system maps and verify as-built documentation.
• Splice and terminate coaxial and fiber, activate devices and test for performance.
• Perform plant maintenance and diagnose issues in HFC/fiber networks using test gear.
• Provide training to other technicians as directed by management.
