Job summary

Sparklight, a Cable One brand, is hiring Advance Technicians to install, repair, and troubleshoot network systems across our service areas. You will diagnose faults in HFC and fiber networks, repair customer-owned equipment, and interpret system maps while ensuring service quality and safety standards.

You'll work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays, and collaborate with a team to keep customers connected with reliable, high-quality connectivity.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school and training within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of test equipment like VOM, TDR, OTDR and related tools.
• Familiar with FCC/NEC/NESC/OSHA/DOT regulations and local ordinances.
• Valid driver's license for the state of employment.
• Ability to work variable schedules including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install new customer installations, repair equipment, and diagnose issues in HFC and fiber networks.
• Repair customer-owned equipment and troubleshoot plant performance problems.
• Read and interpret design maps, verify as-built docs, and report findings.
• Splice/terminate coaxial and fiber cables, install devices, and test to specs.
• Conduct surveys for service readiness and estimate costs for drops.
• Perform underground facility locates to prevent cable damage.
• Maintain/restore plant equipment and monitor for signal leakage.
• Train technical personnel as directed by management.
