Job summary

Vertex Inc is seeking an experienced technical support professional to serve as the final escalation point for complex client issues. You will troubleshoot data-driven apps, databases, and APIs, while partnering with product and engineering teams to scale support processes. Mentorship and on-call rotations are part of the role.

The candidate should have strong SQL, Linux/Unix skills, and familiarity with SAP environments; a Master’s in a STEM field is encouraged.

Qualifications

6+ years in technical support, troubleshooting, or systems engineering in a customer-facing or enterprise environment.
Strong SQL and relational databases with hands-on REST and SOAP API experience.
Experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, FTP scripting, and scheduling tools.
Ability to manage high-stakes customer escalations with composure and sound judgment.
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline encouraged.

Responsibilities

Serve as final escalation point for highly complex, visible client issues and drive resolution.
Provide advanced troubleshooting for data-driven applications, databases, APIs, and enterprise tech.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and support teams to scale processes and standards.
Mentor less senior staff and manage escalations from Tier 2 analysts.
Maintain knowledge base articles and best-practice documentation; participate in on-call rotation.
