Job summary

Travelers invites applications for an Account Executive Officer (AEO), Technology, to partner with agents and brokers to provide coverage for new and renewal business. This role requires independent risk assessment and strong relationship building to drive profitability and growth within our market.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree, 6–8 years of underwriting experience in commercial lines, and CPCU designation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges and analyze information to make timely decisions in line with risk appetite.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate in difficult situations with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster and maintain relationships with external partners by meeting agents and brokers to market Travelers products; travel as needed.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Independently develop and execute agency sales plans with MD guidance to develop region/group plans.
• May assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
