Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Saint Paul, MN is seeking an Account Executive Officer (AEO) in our Financial Institutions P&C team. The role blends underwriting with relationship-building, negotiating with agents and brokers to provide insurance solutions for financial institutions.

You will assess risk, drive profitability, mentor junior underwriters, and travel for meetings with partners to grow and protect a diverse book of business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Five to eight years of underwriting experience.
• Deep knowledge of products and local insurance markets.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience coaching and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Execute business unit underwriting strategies across your book of business to achieve profit and growth objectives.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners across the enterprise to identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster relationships with external partners by meeting in person with agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products; travel as needed.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans that align with regional goals to drive team success.
• Train and mentor less experienced underwriters.
