Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Account Executive Officer (AEO) for National Property to partner with agents and brokers, providing coverage for new and renewal business based on client needs. You will assess complex risk, build internal and external relationships, and contribute to profitability in challenging markets.

You will independently develop agency sales plans, collaborate with the Managing Director, and represent Travelers in meetings with partners to grow the book of business while aligning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience with National Property.
• Deep knowledge of property-related products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Deep financial acumen.
• Strong critical thinking with proactive problem solving in underwriting, marketing, or finance.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability; may procure reinsurance.
• Support global underwriting capabilities and assist in business development for global services.
• Cultivate and maintain internal partner relationships to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Engage with external partners by meeting with agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers’ products.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans with the MD to create regional sales plans.
• Mentor less experienced Account Executives as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
