Job summary

RTX seeks a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineer in Tucson, AZ, onsite. You will create advanced physics-based models in the DoD Space domain and develop EO/IR/RF technologies to aid design and testing of AI-enabled systems.

Collaborate across teams, mentor peers, and drive reusable C++ modeling solutions while advancing energy transport and radar/EO modelling capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics or related STEM field with 10+ years of experience.
• Experience applying object-oriented software design in C++/C and using MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.
• Proficiency with UNIX/Linux or Apple OS or Windows command line.
• Experience in EO/RF domains: electro-optics, radar processing, imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing or discrimination algorithms.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel modeling techniques for advanced problems.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable fashion.
• Deploy EO/RF phenomenology and physics in software implementations.
• Enable customer success through adoption of modeling solutions.
• Work across languages and build environments within an established software product.
• Research and develop novel EO/RF modeling methods.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to prioritize and solve complex software/physics problems.
• Mentor and share EO/RF expertise within the team.
