Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling in Tucson, AZ, onsite. You will create advanced physics-based modeling solutions for DoD Space, developing technologies in the EO/IR/RF domain to aid engineers in understanding energy transport and AI-ready hardware designs.

You will deploy cutting-edge modeling, collaborate with peers, and mentor colleagues while supporting cross-team efforts in a demanding aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience applying object-oriented software design in C++, C, and using MATLAB or Python for evaluation of data sets.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux or Apple OS or Windows command line.
• Experience in EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing and/or discrimination algorithms.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable fashion.
• Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and advanced physics in software.
• Enable customer success through adoption of modeling solutions.
• Work across programming languages and build environments in an established software product.
• Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
• Mentor team members with EO or RF expertise.
