Job summary

BD in USA NC – Durham is seeking System Engineers to drive technology integration for automated pharmacy systems. You will collaborate with hardware, software, quality, and operations to ensure system performance and reliability across design-to-sustain phases.

The role emphasizes DFSS, GPDS, risk assessment, and design verification, with a 3-day office / 2-day remote hybrid schedule. A strong systems engineering background in medical devices is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in engineering, sciences, or related.
• Five years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Two years of experience with large electro‑mechanical systems and troubleshooting desired.
• A strong technical background within systems engineering, medical device development, or similar.
• Familiar with systems integration and testing, system architectural planning and design, reliability engineering, project management, and failure modes effects analysis (FMEA).
• Design for six sigma (DFSS) knowledge and experience or statistical test design and analysis knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with objectives.
• Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives and in selecting techniques and evaluation criteria for resolution based on risk‑based assessment.
• Contributes to completion of programs and projects, including product conceptualization and work plans to reduce concept to design.
• Contributes to management of product requirements and high‑level design system and subsystem specifications, including tracing and verification.
• Independently evaluates problems of moderate complexity and applies analytical/scientific principles to fulfill objectives.
• Drives root cause investigations to troubleshoot customer issues in the field and resolve system difficulties.
• Develops detailed subsystem workflow and logic to guide software in instrument functions and inform theory of operation.
• Performs analyses of automated systems including timing studies, control systems, and critical parameter identification.
• Supports parallel projects and multi‑task as priorities change.
• Experience working in a lab environment with cross‑functional engineers and staff; collects and presents results.
