Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of complex pharmacy automation systems onsite in Durham, NC. This 6 month contract-to-hire role focuses on requirements development, system architecture, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in systems engineering of electromechanical products, must be eligible for U.S. clearance, and be comfortable bridging business needs with engineering execution throughout early

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Systems Engineering experience with complex electromechanical products.
• Eligible to work in the United States and obtain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
• Experience across software, firmware, hardware, electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Knowledge of SE methodologies and V-Model development processes.
• Experience with verification, validation, and requirements traceability.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer and business needs into system requirements and design inputs.
• Decompose system requirements into subsystem requirements.
• Develop and influence system architecture for complex automation platforms.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, hardware, electrical and mechanical teams.
• Liaise between product, marketing, regulatory and engineering teams.
• Support design tradeoff analysis and technical decisions.
• Ensure requirements are testable and support V&V activities.
• Translate regulatory requirements into product requirements.
• Support product development through the full lifecycle.
