Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company is seeking a System Engineer to drive technology integration in automated systems for pharmacy environments. You will collaborate with hardware, software, quality, and cross-functional teams to ensure robust system performance and adherence to GPDS and DFSS practices.

The role emphasizes detailed understanding of subsystems, risk-based decision making, and contribution to product development from concept through to manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in engineering, sciences, or related.
• Five years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Two years of experience with large electro‑mechanical systems and troubleshooting desired.
• A strong technical background within systems engineering, medical device development, or similar.
• Familiar with systems integration and testing, system architectural planning and design, reliability engineering, project management, and failure modes effects analysis (FMEA).
• Design for six sigma (DFSS) knowledge and experience or statistical test design and analysis knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with risk-based assessment.
• Contributes to management of product requirements and high-level design system and subsystem specifications.
• Develops work plans to reduce concept to design and supports transition from R&D to manufacturing/service.
• Drives root cause investigations to troubleshoot customer issues in the field.
• Designs workflow logic to guide software in instrument development and theory of operation.
