Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years engineering experience with 5+ years of people leadership.
• Experience leading a Systems Engineering function in hardware/software product development.
• Strong knowledge of design controls, risk management, and quality systems in regulated industry; medical device experience preferred.
• Experience in a matrixed organization with cross-functional leaders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel 15-25% domestically and internationally.
• In-office role, 4 days/week in Durham with up to 1 day remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the global Systems Engineering team across geographies.
• Own and mature the systems engineering excellence program including standards, tools, and processes.
• Ensure consistent application of systems engineering discipline from user needs to verification and validation.
• Partner with Hardware, Software, UXD, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory leaders to align standards and hand-offs.
• Provide oversight and resource management for Systems Engineering staff across portfolios and projects.
• Drive continuous improvement of the lifecycle within the QMS and ensure robust traceability.
