Job summary

BD is a leading global medical technology company seeking a Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering in the USA NC Durham area. The role serves as the NA functional leader for a team of mechanical engineers within the Pharmacy Automation Hardware Engineering organization, delivering world-class solutions across development, sustaining, and reliability initiatives.

The successful candidate will drive engineering rigor, establish best practices, and align with the broader Hardware Engineering vision

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
7 years of mechanical engineering experience.
4 years in functional leadership and experience with global teams.
Experience developing and launching a new product; DFSS experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Mechanical Engineering functional authority and champion engineering excellence across the team.
Establish, standardize, and continuously improve mechanical engineering tools, processes, methodologies, and best practices.
Drive technical rigor through architecture reviews, design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving activities.
Ensure compliance with quality management system requirements and documentation standards.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with hardware delivery, quality, regulatory, and program management teams to ensure successful product development and lifecycle management.
