Job summary

Amentum seeks a Systems Engineer to join our team supporting enterprise infrastructure across classified environments. You will design, implement, administer, and maintain compute, storage, networking, and identity services on Windows Server platforms, coordinating with cybersecurity and engineering teams.

You will participate in modernization and lifecycle projects, perform upgrades, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring system availability and compliance with STIG and RMF requirements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Experience with Cisco UCS administration, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.
• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and security best practices.
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file services, and authentication technologies.
• Experience storage, backup, DR, and data protection strategies.
• Windows Server patching, hardening, and lifecycle management.
• PowerShell, Python, Ansible or similar scripting/automation experience.
• Ability to lead technical tasks and coordinate with teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems.
• Support network solutions across classified environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards and runbooks.
• Participate in modernization, migrations, and lifecycle management.
• Manage storage, backup, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
• Manage identity/authentication services (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP).
• Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and changes in production.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root cause analyses.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to support vulnerability remediation and STIGs.
• Develop technical documentation and guidance for junior engineers.
