Job summary

Amentum in Columbia, MD seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead enterprise compute, storage, network, and identity platforms across classified environments. You will architect, implement, and operate critical infrastructure with a focus on reliability, security, and scalable performance.

You will mentor staff, drive modernization efforts, manage outages, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance and robust runbooks for day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing and supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure.
• Expert-level Cisco UCS knowledge and administration.
• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, Nutanix or equivalent.
• Advanced Windows Server design, hardening, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Experience leading infrastructure projects and change management in production.
• Strong cybersecurity knowledge including vulnerability remediation and system hardening.
• Ability to document architectures, runbooks, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems (Cisco UCS, AD, storage, Windows Server).
• Architect, deploy, and support network solutions across classified environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, roadmaps, and best practices.
• Lead modernization, migrations, and lifecycle management efforts.
• Manage storage, backups, DR, capacity planning, and data protection.
• Provide senior technical guidance and mentoring to staff.
• Support after-hours maintenance windows and incident response.
