Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to implement, administer, and improve enterprise infrastructure across classified environments. You will work on compute, storage, networking, and identity management platforms, coordinating with cybersecurity teams and engineering peers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong experience with Cisco UCS administration, lifecycle management, firmware maintenance, capacity planning, and operational support.
• Experience administering virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or equivalents.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, segmentation, and security best practices.
• Experience implementing infrastructure solutions within complex enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
• Experience managing storage platforms, backup, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS including patching, hardening, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with upgrades, migrations, patching, change management, and DR exercises.
• Ability to lead technical tasks and projects while coordinating with teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise infrastructure systems.
• Support compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and identity management across classified environments.
• Administer network solutions including routing, switching, and secure communications.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, engineering best practices, and system documentation.
• Participate in modernization efforts, migrations, and lifecycle management.
• Manage enterprise storage platforms and support backup, DR, replication, and capacity planning.
• Administer identity services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
• Plan and execute system upgrades, firmware updates, patching, maintenance actions, and approved changes.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Work with cybersecurity to support vulnerability remediation, STIGs, system hardening, and compliance.
