Job summary

RTX is seeking Principal System Safety Engineers for onsite roles in Tucson, AZ. You will develop and manage MIL-STD-882E safety programs, interpret complex requirements, and guide cross-functional teams to hazard elimination and control implementation throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include IMS integration, EVM coordination, mentorship of junior engineers, and collaboration with government customers. A DoD Secret clearance is required and relocation may be offered.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and at least 8 years of related experience.
• Experience developing and implementing MIL-STD-882E system safety tasks and analyses.
• Experience writing technical reports and presentations.
• Experience briefing safety status to safety approval authorities at technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E system safety programs and analyses.
• Interpret requirements, standards, and specifications to guide program leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to eliminate hazards and implement controls.
• Manage safety strategies within the Program IMS and coordinate with stakeholders.
