Job summary

RTX is seeking a seasoned System Safety professional to develop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs across all lifecycle phases. You will manage safety tasks within the IMS, coordinate with CAMs and product owners, and mentor junior engineers.

Strong collaboration with government customers and cross-functional teams is essential to mitigate risk and ensure hazard elimination. The role requires a STEM degree, 8+ years of relevant experience, and an active Top Secret/SCI

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882E safety programs and analyses.
• Experience briefing safety status to approval boards.
• Active Top Secret/SCI U.S. clearance required prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs.
• Manage safety tasks in IMS and ensure contract compliance.
• Oversee safety budgets and EVM coordination.
• Mentor junior safety engineers.
• Lead System Safety Working Groups with government customers.
• Perform safety analyses of designs, drawings, and requirements.
• Oversee lifecycle safety from design to disposal.
