Job summary

RTX is seeking Senior System Safety Engineers for onsite roles in the US. The position focuses on developing and executing MIL-STD-882E compliant safety programs, hazard analyses, and risk reduction across engineering disciplines, with coordination to customers and Safety Review Boards.

Ideal candidates will have a STEM degree, 5+ years of experience in safety engineering, and familiarity with DoD standards.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
• Experience writing technical reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• System Safety Program Development and Execution.
• Conduct hazard and design analyses to ensure compliance with system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
• Stakeholder Coordination with customer safety representatives and Safety Review Board authorities.
