Job summary

PrattWhitney, part of the RTX family, seeks a System Safety engineer onsite in Tucson, AZ to lead MIL-STD-882E based safety programs and collaborate with engineering teams. The role requires a STEM degree and extensive experience in system safety and safety reviews.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage safety tasks in the IMS, and coordinate with program management and government authorities to ensure compliance and risk mitigation. A DoD clearance is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Minimum eight years of relevant experience in system safety.
• Experience with MIL-STD-882E, risk assessment and safety approvals.

Responsibilities

• Develop MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs across tasks and milestones.
• Integrate safety features into the program IMS and manage budget and schedules.
• Mentor junior safety engineers and lead safety review activities.
