Job summary
Legion Technical Solutions LLC is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to support defense and aerospace programs in Arizona. You will lead MIL-STD-882E based safety programs and collaborate with Systems, Electrical, Software, and Test teams to ensure safety is integrated across the product lifecycle.
The role involves hazard analyses (PHA, SSHA, SHA, O&SHA), risk assessment, and documentation for internal and government customers, with opportunities to influence program reviews and safety
Qualifications
- Hands-on knowledge of MIL-STD-882E safety principles and processes.
- Experience performing system safety analyses and risk mitigation.
- Ability to develop technical documentation and communicate safety findings.
- Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs.
- Conduct hazard analyses (PHA, SSHA, SHA, O&SHA) and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and coordinate mitigation with engineering teams.
- Ensure safety requirements are integrated into hardware, software, and system architecture.
- Prepare safety reports and present findings during reviews and approvals.
- Coordinate with government customers and safety representatives throughout the lifecycle.
