Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer. You will lead hazard analyses, develop safety criteria for system design and software, and implement system safety programs to protect warfighters.

You will present findings, coordinate System Safety Working Group meetings, review specs for safety, and participate in accident investigations. DoD Secret clearance is required and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• Experience developing and implementing a System Safety Program IAW MIL-STD-882.
• Developing and evaluating system safety requirements.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and its analyses.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make formal presentations to large groups.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform hazard analyses and recommend safety features to mitigate hazards in system design, software, training, and procedures.
• Develop and implement system safety programs with a focus on supporting Advanced Programs.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and documentation.
• Coordinate and lead System Safety Working Group meetings.
• Review specifications and design changes for safety impacts.
• Participate in accident investigations and identify corrective actions.
