Job summary

Solidus seeks a Senior System Safety Engineer to lead MIL-STD-882E programs across the product lifecycle for defense/aerospace tech in Tucson, AZ. Translate hazard analyses into actionable constraints and coordinate with IPTs and government safety authorities.

You will develop SSPP, perform FHA/SHA/OSH A analyses, manage safety testing, and chair System Safety Working Groups, briefing milestones such as SRR, PDR, and CDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in engineering/technical field with 3+ or 5+ years in system safety.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• Experience applying MIL-STD-882E in defense/aerospace environments.
• Ability to interface with Systems, Software, Firmware, and Hardware teams.
• Strong technical writing and briefing with government authorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain MIL-STD-882E system safety programs and SSPP.
• Perform FHA, SHA, and OSHA analyses across product lifecycle.
• Define safety test requirements and verify controls mitigate hazards.
• Lead cross-functional IPTs and chair System Safety Working Groups.
• Brief safety posture at milestones like SRR, PDR, and CDR.
