Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control seeks a System Safety Engineer (SSE) Sr to lead hazard analyses and safety assessments across complex system designs, software, training, and procedures for Advanced Programs, located in Grand Prairie, TX.

You will develop and implement system safety programs, present technical findings, and coordinate System Safety Working Group meetings; must hold a Bachelor's in engineering and be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline.
• Experience developing and implementing a System Safety Program IAW MIL-STD-882
• Developing and evaluating system safety requirements
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and its associated analyses
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to make formal presentations to large groups
• Interacts well in a team atmosphere with engineers, suppliers, program managers and customers
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Developing hazard analyses and safety assessments
• Analyzing and recommending safety criteria in system design and procedures
• Preparing and delivering technical presentations and documentation
• Coordinating and leading System Safety Working Group meetings
• Reviewing specifications and design changes for adverse impacts to system safety
• Participating in accident investigations and identifying corrective actions
