Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Sr System Safety Engineer in Orlando to lead hazard analyses, develop safety programs, and guide system safety across designs, software, training, and procedures. You will develop safety analyses, present findings, and coordinate safety reviews with cross-functional teams.

The role requires MIL-STD-882 expertise, strong communication, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required.
• Experience developing and implementing a System Safety Program IAW MIL-STD-882.
• Developing and evaluating system safety requirements.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and its analyses; strong written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop hazard analyses and safety assessments.
• Analyze and recommend safety criteria in design and procedures.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations and documentation.
• Coordinate and lead System Safety Working Group meetings.
• Review specifications/design changes for safety impacts.
• Participate in accident investigations and identify corrective actions.
