Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER FMC Aerospace division is seeking a Senior Sustaining Electrical Engineer to lead reliability and quality improvements for Grand Rapids products including motor controllers, DC motors, and actuators. The role focuses on troubleshooting at the component level and obsolescence management.

Requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of related experience; ITAR compliance and US work authorization are mandatory.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in an electrical engineering role.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
ITAR compliance: U.S. person required.
No relocation benefit offered; candidates within 50 miles of Grand Rapids, MI only.

Responsibilities

Drive product improvements through engineering analysis, redesign and testing of electromechanical actuators and system hardware.
Sustain product viability by evaluating and redesigning hardware with obsolete components.
Develop test plans, specifications and test procedures for requalification activities.
Coordinate requalification testing and evaluate results.
Support ongoing cost reduction, quality, and reliability improvements with cross-functional teams.
Provide technical support to operations, procurement and customers as required.
