Job summary

Eaton Group is seeking a Senior Sustaining Electrical Engineer to join our on-site Grand Rapids, MI team. You will lead reliability and quality improvements for motor controllers, DC motors, and related electromechanical components, while troubleshooting hardware and supporting obsolescence management.

The role requires collaboration with operations, procurement, and customers, with emphasis on data-driven improvements and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum two years of experience in an electrical engineering role.
• Must be a U.S. person per ITAR; no sponsorship.
• Relocation not offered; reside within 50 miles of Grand Rapids, MI.

Responsibilities

• Drive product improvements through engineering analysis, redesign and testing of electromechanical actuators and system hardware.
• Sustain product viability through proactive evaluation and redesign of hardware with obsolete components.
• Develop test plans, specifications and general test procedures for requalification activities; coordinate requalification testing, advise laboratory personnel supporting efforts, evaluate test results, and develop test reports.
• Support Printed Wire Assembly (PWA) Supplier transfer initiatives.
• Work with Supply Chain, Customer Service and HPWT to support cost reduction initiatives and promote growth through product reliability and quality improvements.
• Support customer service product inquiries and interpret specifications to make engineering-based recommendations.
• Support FRACAS system development, tracking, and metric development.
• Develop Fault Isolation Manuals for operations teams to troubleshoot electrical components.
