Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER FMC Aerospace division seeks a Lead Sustaining Electrical Engineer to guide momentum product improvements and sustain reliability across motors, controllers and boards at our Grand Rapids, MI facility.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and strict ITAR compliance. On-site collaboration with operations, NPD, procurement and customers is essential for success and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of experience in an electrical engineering role.
• Must be a U.S. person per ITAR and not require visa sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit; must reside within 50 miles of Grand Rapids, MI.
• ITAR-controlled information access; participate in NPD/maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Drive momentum product improvements through analysis, redesign and testing of electromechanical actuators and system hardware.
• Sustain product viability by evaluating and redesigning hardware with obsolete components.
• Develop test plans and procedures; coordinate requalification testing and report results.
• Support Launch for New Product Development and Supplier Product Transfer initiatives.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service and HPWT to drive cost reduction and improve reliability.
• Assist customer service with inquiries about momentum products.
• Interpret internal and customer specifications and propose enhancements based on data.
• Support FRACAS system development, tracking and metrics.
