Job summary

Eaton's IS AER FMC Aerospace division seeks a Senior Sustaining Electrical Engineer to drive reliability and quality improvements across Grand Rapids product lines, including motor controllers, DC motors, boards, and actuators. Reports to Sustaining Engineering Manager.

You will lead engineering analysis, redesigns, testing, and obsolescence management, collaborating with operations, procurement, and customers. On-site M-F in Grand Rapids, MI; relocation bonus available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum two years of experience in an electrical engineering role.
• ITAR compliance and U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
• Willingness to work on-site within 50 miles of Grand Rapids, MI.

Responsibilities

• Drive product improvements through engineering analysis, redesign and testing of electromechanical actuators and system hardware.
• Sustain product viability through proactive evaluation and redesign of hardware with obsolete components.
• Develop test plans, specifications and test procedures for requalification activities and coordinate testing.
• Support supplier transfer initiatives and cross-functional cost-reduction efforts.
• Read and interpret specifications, advise on enhancements based on data, and support ITAR-related processes.
