Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect surgical support, assist surgeons, and train technologists and students. This role includes mentoring peers and stepping into lead technologist duties as needed in a dynamic operating room environment.

Qualified candidates hold BLS with AHA, and an Associate’s degree or credential in Surgical Technology. New grads are welcome to apply, with a comprehensive benefits package and on-call responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA).
• Education: Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Work Experience: Accepts New Grads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate performance.
• Set up sterile field and scrub in prior to patient entry.
• Organize back table and Mayo stand for efficient case flow.
• Maintain availability of necessary instruments and supplies.
• Collaborate with surgeon and mentor staff for case readiness.
• Teach RNs to scrub on a variety of cases.
• Assist with case closing activities and turnover.
