Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center in Huntersville is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The role supports the RN circulator, prepares instruments and supplies, and ensures sterility and proper handling of specimens.

First responsibilities include room turnover and adherence to department policies. Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program, with 2 years of OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military training equivalent.
• 2 years operating room experience in a surgical technologist role required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Current certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments for surgical procedures.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists RN circulator in preparing patient, assembling supplies and equipment; supports room turnover.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and documents charges accurately.
• Attends in-services and participates in Performance Improvement.
