Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• 1–3 years of surgery experience in two specialty areas preferred.
• BLS certification through an accredited program; Certified Surgical Technician preferred
• Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
• Computer skills needed.
• Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
• Strong critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical operations under supervision of surgeons and OR staff.
• Perform scrub activities using aseptic technique and infection control.
• Prepare equipment, instrumentation, and supplies for procedures; operate and maintain instruments.
• Set up the sterile field for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Maintain adherence to hospital policies, confidentiality, and patient safety guidelines.
