Job summary

Advocate Health, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the surgical suite and maintain a sterile field. You will support the RN circulator, prepare instruments, and ensure quality patient care during operative procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent military training. A current certification is preferred and sign-on bonus opportunities exist for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology is required or successful completion of military training in Surgical Technology or OR Specialist.
• Current certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile field and adheres to aseptic techniques.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before during and after the procedure.
• Assists RN circulator with patient preparation and room turnover.
• Performs duties per department policy and procedure.
• Documents sterilization activities and uses supplies judiciously.
• Attends in-services and participates in Performance Improvement processes.
• Pursues ongoing education to increase competency and meet professional goals.
• Contributes to development of policies and standards.
