Job summary

Advocate Health Care Huntersville Ambulatory Surgery Center in North Carolina seeks a certified Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. The role includes preparing supplies, assisting with procedures, and maintaining sterile technique.

You will participate in room turnover, ensure instrument readiness, and align with safety standards and department policies. Two years of OR experience and an accredited surgical technology program are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or successful military training in Surgical Technology/Operating Room Specialist.
• 2 years OR experience in surgical technologist role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Possesses thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, supplies, equipment, and specimen disposition; supports room turnover.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and instruments; ensures proper usage and accurate charge documentation.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and staff education.
• Contributes to policy and procedure development and acts as a clinical resource.
