Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Sr Surgical Technologist to support the OR with advanced technical skills, mentoring teammates and ensuring safe, efficient procedures. The role requires independent judgment and collaboration with surgeons and nurses, as well as maintaining instrument sets and sterilization standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a recognized Surgical Technology program, two years of experience, and BLS plus CST/TS-C/CSA certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training equivalency.
• Two years as a Surgical Technologist.
• BLS certification and a surgical technology certification (CST/TS-C/CSA) or grandfather clause.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain operating room and sterile supplies for procedures.
• Mentor and orient new surgical technologists.
• Provide OR support with independence and sound judgment under supervision.
