Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training equivalency
• Two years as a Surgical Technologist
• BLS Basic Life Support, certification CST/TS-C or CSA or grandfather clause per SB1239

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room, equipment and supplies for the next patient.
• Anticipates instrument and supply needs for procedures and assists the surgeon and nursing staff.
• Maintains sterile technique and participates in quality and safety practices.
• Acts as a preceptor and mentor for new surgical technologists and supports department teamwork.
