Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons and support a wide range of operative procedures. The role includes setting up sterile fields, scrubbing in, and mentoring peers and students as needed.

Candidates should have an Associate degree or Surgical Technology certificate and BLS certification, with new grads accepted. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available, and the team supports professional growth within a large health system.

Qualifications

Certifications: BLS within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
Education: Associate‘s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology
Work Experience: Accepts New Grads

Responsibilities

Preparation for surgeon specific operative/invasive procedures that’s timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
Sets up sterile field and is scrubbed prior to patient entering the room
Sets up case so that another can step into an organized back table and mayo.
Has appropriate “have available” items.
Uses resources wisely, avoids unnecessary opening.
Motions are fluid and not redundant.
Set up time for a variety of case types is within acceptable range.
Collaborates with surgeon prior to case and adjusts as necessary.
Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon specific procedures.
