Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgeons across operative procedures, ensuring timely prep, setup, and maintenance of sterile fields. You will scrub, run Mayo, and assist in diverse cases while mentoring staff and students.

Candidates with an Associate's degree or Surgical Technology certificate and BLS certification are encouraged to apply. New grads are welcome; sign-on and relocation bonuses are available to qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days — American Heart Association (AHA).
• Education: Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Work Experience: Accepts New Grads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures timely, accurate, and efficient.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and suture are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub prior to patient entering the room.
• Set up case so another can step into an organized back table and mayo.
• Use resources wisely, avoid unnecessary openings and ensure timely setups.
• Assist with intra-op events and adapt to case needs with calm, focused actions.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs to prepare for surgeon-specific procedures.

Education

Associate's degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology

BLS certification (AHA)
