Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced surgical technologist to assist surgeons, prepare sterile fields, and support intraoperative teams across a variety of specialties. The role involves scrubbing, case preparation, and ensuring timely, efficient instrument and supply management under surgeon preference.

You will also mentor other technologists and students. Required qualifications include BLS within 30 days and either a Surgical Technology certificate or an associate degree.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Education: Surgical Technology certificate or an associate degree in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative procedures and maintain an organized back table.
• Set up sterile field, scrub, and assist in first scrub and second scrub roles.
• Precept surgical techs and RNs; mentor students; adapt to surgeon techniques.
• Run mayo assists independently and manage intra-op equipment and supplies.
• Communicate needs clearly; collaborate with the surgical team during cases.
• Participate in on-call coverage, weekends, and holidays per department policy.
